Even it is a phone call ONLY in this humid hot summer. 20 May In Remembrance of the victims of the EarthquakeChina enters a three-day mourning period for victims of the May. 12 earthquake starting May 19. Flags are to be kept at half-mast and all public amusements will be suspended. The Olympic torch relay has been suspended from Monday to Wednesday.
At 2:28 yesterday afternoon, we Chinese people collectively stopped for three minutes exactly one week after the disastrous 8.0 magnitude earthquake rocked Wenchuan Country in Suchuan Province, killing 40,075 people at the point.
Our colleagues gathered downstairs of the office building facing our national flag flying half mast and stood in silence. Air-raid sirens and the horns of cars and buses sounded to observe silent tribute. |
