27 August Business Trip to Harbin I will go to Harbin next week for the period of Wednesday to Friday for new office setting up and staff orientation issues. That is the second chance for me be on the business trip in my current company. The first time was for Mid-Year review held in a five-star hotel in SZ where I learned some basic ideas about how to arrange and organize a meeting with groups of people, such as accommodations, transportations, dinner arrangements, job distributions, work flows and tips. I really cherished the chance my boss gave to me, although no time for me go out for sightseeing. However, I got two days leave after meeting to be with Etto during weekend.
I have not been to Harbin before but heard of that northeast city is well-know for its International Ice and Sculpture Festival and Unique, Russian and European-influenced architecture.
A city once under Russian rule, it is influenced by Russian culture a lot, in areas of cuisine(sausages), food(bread), Vodka, bulidings as well.
Russian Byzantine-style church: St. Sophia Cathedral was the largest Orthodox Church building in the Far East then and it remains so till this day. It has now been made into a museum as a showcase of the multi-cultural architecture of Harbin.
I hope I get the chance visiting there during my trip in spare time.
(To be continued)
